Hot tips for your garden repel animals, grow larger vegtables, avoid fumes when cleaning fireplace use old coffee grounds

If you have a wood burning stove or fire place you know the air can quite toxic when you are cleaning out the ashes. Try this tip. Throw old coffee grounds about 2 cups (add a tsp vanilla for a nice scent) on top of the cooled ashes. Allow to sit for a 30 minutes or so. The grounds make cleaning much easier and clears the pollution in the atmosphere .

If kitty cats are going into your garden to use for a litter box throw coffee grounds or ground coffee beans (add orange or lemon peels if desired ) around the plant. Cats do not like the scent of coffee or citrus. They will flee from your precious garden hopefully not to return.

.For robust and large carrots, cucumbers, melons or tomatoes this summer try this hot tip. Throw old coffee grounds around the plants. Work into the soil a bit if desired. The nutrients from the coffee grounds feed the soil and make larger veggies.

If deer are going into your garden this is a hot tip with human hair . I used to have a client that lived in the foothills of Colorado. The deer loved her vegetable garden. I would save a sack of cut hair for her. She spread the hair in her garden. The human scent repels the deer . Just to think they do not love humans so much. I wonder why?

I hope you are blessed with these tips. Pass it on and leave the rest behind. Come back soon for more remedies. With Love, Happy Gardening.

I wonder if I should be keeping my hair everytime I go to the barber. I could cover my motorcycle with it and maybe that will keep the deer away from me!!! Worth a shot! LOL

From my experience, hair doesn’t work. What works the best is Havahart’s deer off. It’s organic (it has the OMRI logo right on the label). And it’s more powerful than other brands because it repels by both odor and taste. Others only target one. Plus, reapplication is needed every 3 months. I’ve had my bottle all season long.

I used to hate to throw coffee away but now I toss it into the compost pile. Thanks for the other tips!
