Would the evidence find you guilty or not in a court of law?

Updated on April 6, 2014

He came for sinners.

I need to start this writing by telling you it is primarily focused for the believer. Please do not go and run off if you do not believe Stay for a few minutes. There just may be something that helps you discern a Christian. Just maybe something will soften your heart or spark you to consider the love of Jesus and His love for you. I am not here to judge anyone. That is Gods territory. I am but a vessel for Him. I have great compassion for those that do not believe. Atheism my friend does not take away pain only hope. I can only begin to imagine how God must feel when so many turn from Him or spit on His name. We are created in His image and Jesus wept. He is God and perfect man in Jesus Christ. He displayed feelings of deep compassion for sinners. That is why He came into the world not to judge the world but to save the world from sin. One day we will pass on from planet earth or Jesus will return first before that time. Either way if you deny Jesus then you too will be denied eternal life in His Kingdom.(Matthew 10:33)

I am not here to argue or say I am better than any one. I am not. But for the grace of God go I. All Christians had to make a choice to come aboard for Jesus. Not many were riding the pink cloud when we called on His name to save us from the raging storm or the mire mud pit we were in. If you know anything about the Bible you know that Jesus choose sinners, the best of them to follow Him. Take Matthew the tax collector. Tax collectors were hated men. They cheated people out of lots of money. They were allowed to collect as much tax as they wanted over and above as long as Caesar got his fare. Take doubting Thomas as many miracles as He saw Jesus do he still doubted. Jesus loved him still. How about Peter who denied Jesus Christ three times when accused of knowing Him. How about King David who God so loved. David committed adultery and had a man killed. He was forgiven by Jesus but he did suffer grave consequences for his sin. Sin does that to us. Not that God can not turn all things for the good because He does so for those who believe on Him.( Romans 8:28) So I hope you get it. If you do not believe. Jesus does love sinners. (John 3:16) Take a couple of woman in the Bible. Jesus saved the prostitute so she was not stoned to death. He said, 'He who is without sin cast the first stone.' (John 8:7) He told the woman to go and sin no more. Oh the Pharisees hated Him for this. How about the Samaritan woman at the well who had five husband. Jesus knew and He did not condemn her. He told her to drink from His well and she would not thirst again for truth. He was the living water.(John 4:1-26) The Scribes and Pharisees were about the law. Jesus was about love, compassion, mercy, truth and grace.

The Light of the World.

Jesus could have called legions of angels to save Him from the cross. But He so loved the world He suffered a brutal death for us. He paid a hefty price for us to be made clean and spotless before God the Father. His blood shed for us paid our sin debt. He took all of the worlds iniquities and sickness upon Him self so we could live and not die. That is so huge. He was beaten and spit on and whipped and laughed at and cursed and stripped of his clothing. He was crowned with thorns. He did this all for mankind.

I find the older I get the more I want to know Jesus. The more I know Him the more I love Him. As each day flies by it is like I thirst for Jesus more. He is the well of fresh living water. There is none other that will give us the peace we all long for inside other than Christ. No other god will do. Not Mohammed, Dalai lama. Allah or Buddha. None of these men called gods went to the cross for us so we could live. None save us from our sin. None heal us from our disease. None of these gods rose from the dead and live again. They lay down in there extravagant graves their souls in their destined eternity.

How majestic and amazing is our Lord? His love so majestic that He extends new mercy and grace on the fallen world each day. If that were not true we would all be under. His love so large He does not want to loose one, no not one to eternal death. Eternal death means God will be out of the picture. You will not see sunlight or sunsets. There will be no rainbows. There will be no waterfalls. There will be no meals or water. There will be darkness and torment. God is the Light of the World. The choice to deny Him is of free will. You will get to live with your sin if you deny Jesus. You will have your mind and think of what you missed forever. It is no wonder Jesus weeps. He does not want this for any. He did create hell for Satan and his followers. It was not intended for mankind.

But we do need to make a choice once we are an accountable age. There is no excuse. God has made certain there is plenty of evidence of His existence. (Romans 1:20 ) Jesus knew there would be skeptics and men that hated Him..There is nothing new under the sun.(Eccl 1:9) There has always has been the skeptic, atheist, agnostic, false profit. But Jesus took on the devil for us and defeated him. He died for us and rose and lives. How glorious is that? He is no respecter of people. He did it for you and for me.

The Vote

If you were on trial for loving Jesus would there be enough evidence to convict you?

Jury Vote

Now for my question to you guys. If you were in a court of law and the jury were told there had to be enough evidence given to prove that you were a Christian before they found you guilty how do you think they would find you? Would you be found guilty because there was much evidence you loved God? Or would there be so little or none for Christ that the case would be acquitted?

I have been out of town for a time to visit family. Purely a God given gift. and blessing. In the time away I really started to notice how many 'Christians' never show their colors to the world. I too had to look at myself in the mirror. Many say they believe yet they back off when it comes to sharing about Christ. Not only in the secular world but in the church. Many believers have remained quiet (me included) only to be sorry we did not speak up for Almighty God. One word could save a life. One hug and smile telling another Jesus loves them could soften a heart. Telling another you will pray for them could give someone the hope they long for. Sharing your testimony with another could be all they need to hear. Maybe no one ever shared Jesus with them. Maybe they never heard about the love of Jesus. Praising Jesus in the secular environment could plant a seed.

We believers need to be shouting who we are. Remember Paul's words. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.( Romans 1:16) We need to shout whom we belong to. We need to give the Glory to God for everything. We need to let our lights shine. The world out there is huge. There are many more secular than believers. Many claim to love the Lord but are sad or oppressed or down trodden. Hey I understand life is not easy. It is easy to be tempted to stay down. There are times we want to just hide under the covers and not face the day. But is that what God has for us. Not hardly. He has so much more for us. There is no limit to His wealth. In wealth I mean spiritual wealth. He wants us to pass the test so we can go to the next level. ( 1 Peter 1:7) If we can not be faithful in small things how can we be faithful in more.

Jesus must weep at the Christian who keeps mum so not to rock the boat or is lack for words. Praise God is enough, if you do not know what to say. We have a heavenly Father that loves us so much we cannot begin to fathom how wide and deep His love. We know by faith. Yet when push comes to shove it is like many shine Jesus on. I do not think on purpose. It could be lack of knowledge or wisdom. God will use you where you are at. Allow Him too. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.(Romans 10:17)

The Holy Spirit points us to Jesus. Jesus blesses us so much. Why is it Christians are shy about showing who they belong too? Children of God. I am not perfect in sharing the love of Christ. Far from it but I am so grateful for my salvation which I do not deserve. I can not help but let others know how majestic God is. How will they know if we keep our blessings and gifts to self?

Shine the Light.

It is the enemy of our souls who wants to keep us quiet. Are you a sunday Christian? No offense given? I am led by the Spirit of God. I have much work to do. God is not done with me yet. He will call me home one day or return first. We do not know when. When I stand before Him I so want to hear Jesus tell me you did well my daughter. You told others about me and you let the light shine through you. You were salt of the earth. Job well doneTime goes all so quickly. We do not know what tomorrow might bring. Rise up to the occasion Child of God. Do not be shy about the Savior of the World. Allow others to see the hope you have been given in Him. They will see something different about you. The light of Christ. They will know us by our fruits. Do not keep your faith only for the believer.. Stand on scripture. Jesus is our strength.(Phil 4:13)

Jesus loves you. I pray that for you each day the favor of God smiles on you. Jesus is so very intricate. He is in every detail of our life. He wants to be in our life. He only wants our love. He prepares the way. He goes before us to make things happen. He is worthy to be praised. Jesus is the good news not just good advice. The gospel is the good news that God loves us. All glory to God.
