Look into the mirror.

Recently, I went into the forum to tread the waters. I seldom go there because many times it is like clanging cymbals. The writer wanted to know why he be considered less of a Christian because he did not believe in a hell. Although later in the forum, he did mention that God is indeed judge. He states we need to look in the mirror, do our part in this world, and quit looking at others beliefs. I could not help myself and felt led to reply which turned into a hub. This was a difficult one to tackle. I praise God it is finally written and I am putting it out believing the Holy Spirit will do the touching.

First sir what is less of a Christian? Either we believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our life or we do not. Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ. When we confess our sin and ask Jesus into our heart as Lord and Savior than we are born again into the family of God. If you believe in Jesus, you believe. Many Christians are not aware of His thousands and thousands of promises to us but that does not make them less than a Christian. His grace changes our hearts and leads us into righteousness. It is nothing we can do or earn. We are not capable. Jesus works on our hearts to change them. Some are more mature in the Lord than others are in the Lord but that does not make anyone less of a Christian. We start somewhere. We grow in faith and understanding. The Holy Spirit of God reveals Jesus to us when we are born again into the family of God. God is no respecter of people. He loves His children. We need to fan the fire for Christ by staying diligent in His word. He wants to pour His blessing on us. It is for our benefit to hear His instruction. The Bible has given us all the answers. We need to be diligent in hearing the word. It is how our faith grows. Jesus is the way, truth and life. (John 6:14)

Sir as far as being less of a Christian because one does not believe in hell is false teaching. To emphasize, if this is what you want to believe and say you are a Christian than bring the scripture verse to my attention please. There is no place in scripture that says there is no hell. Our Spirits go to eternity when we die. (Mark 12:8) A true Christians is assured of where we go when we pass, it is to heaven, eternity with God. Why do you think a true Christian is desperate to share the message of salvation? We are talking about eternity. You are correct Christians do not go to hell the blood of Jesus has cleansed us from sin and made us righteous before God.

You know if you love Jesus and have a relationship with him. If you are misled to believe there is not a hell then you are deceived. ( Daniel 12:2) The devil wants to take any and all he can to hell with him and his fallen angels. The devil is the father of lies. Many do believe we go poof if we want too when we die, not so. Wishing does not make it happen. Scripture is very clear on where we go when we pass from this planet. Back to the father, one side of the gulf or the other. (Luke16:21-24) No one really wants to be on the other side of the fence, do they? There is no compromise in the word of God. It is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

We serve a master.

Bob Dylan wrote a song in the early sixties, ‘ Gotta Serve Somebody.’ It reached number 3 on the US billboards. His fellow musicians of that day gave him allot of flak in relation to the song, including from John Lennon. He wrote the song ‘Serve Yourself’ shortly after mocking Dylan for injecting religion into his hit song. The theme of Lennon's song,'You gotta serve yourself/Aint no one gonna do it for you.’ It seems for humans in all of time it is such a hard concept to grasp. Whom do we serve? You can not serve two masters. Is your master the love or money, fame, food, woman, men, alcohol, drugs, work or God? 'No one can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other or he will be devoted to one and despise the other.' (Matthew 6:24)

Bob Dylan writes this about being born again. “Being born again is a hard thing … We don’t like to lose those old attitudes and hang-ups. Conversion takes time because you have to learn to crawl before you can walk. You have to learn to drink milk before you can eat meat. You’re reborn, but like a baby. A baby doesn’t know anything about this world, and that’s what it’s like when you’re reborn. You’re a stranger. You have to learn all over again.” -Bob Dylan, 1980

God does know whom He will choose; you are so right about that, sir. God is the judge. He chose us first, before the foundations of the world. (Ephesians 1:4) God wants not one to perish, no not one! (2 Peter 3:1) God does write in His word about judgment. He keeps it no secret either. We will face God. If we deny Jesus Christ His Son, who atoned and died for our sins than we are denied eternal life with Jesus the Savior. We do not go poof if we fail the test. Our Spirit’s are eternal and will go to heaven or hell.

To fear (revere) the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. (Proverbs 9:10) Wisdom comes in knowing Jesus Christ. (Relationship with Him) Are we like the Pharisee and Scribe who shun and spit out the true Messiah; believing our works will get us to God. The law points us to why we need a Savior. They will say to the Lord on that day. Surely Lord you will pick me. ‘I helped my brother. I gave to this cause and that cause. I shook hands with the neighbors and had them over for dinner. I went to church and gave my tithe. I fasted. I volunteered at the food bank. I am not an adulterer, like my neighbor.’ A fool has no delight in wisdom but that his heart may discover itself. (Proverbs 18:2)

I was in a mud pit, sinking. The hand of Jesus came to my rescue. I said, ‘yes’ to Jesus. I am humbled on my knees that I sinner am forgiven; past, present, future sin. I know where I am going after this life. It is to heaven, for all of eternity. (John 3:16) Why would I not long to tell others what Jesus did for me and will do for you. Jesus saved my life on earth and gave me a new life. Now a child of Almighty God am about my Father’s business to share the good news of salvation.

God is no respecter of people. He goes after His people. Why is the world in such a pickle that they hate Christians? Because there is a devil Satan, who wants to take everyone he can to hell with him. He deceives all he can. (John 8:44) Satan, judged to hell knows it. (Revelation 20) God does not want His people there. Jesus is our only hope and victory in this crazy, mixed up, messed up, evil, greedy, morally abased, corrupt, deceived world we live.

True wisdom starts at the cross, where Jesus died for us, rose again on the third day, ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of God so we can live and not die in our sin to eternal hell, but to eternal life with the Lord. Not even a bad trade off. Only believe and confess, Jesus will come into your heart. (Romans 10:9-10) The Holy Spirit of God will reveal Jesus to you. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

His grace and mercy shield us and give us favor. (Grace; freely given what I do not deserve and cannot earn) His mercies are new every day. He will take us dear sir. though the storms of life. He is our refuge and our strong tower. I hope you consider the choice dear sir It is in the name of Jesus who is love, I write. Not because I am all good, because our Lord Jesus is all-good and loved us first. All Glory to God.

In Christ Jesus,

With Love Skye
