The Long and Winding Road Leads to Good.
The Journey
A long and winding road does lead to good. David was anointed King of Israel after King Saul took his own life. David was committed to the Lord. He was with sin but the Lord gave David great favor. David was so sad he sinned against his Father. He pleaded that the Holy Spirit not leave him, because of his actions. God honored Davids prayer. David lived the long and windng road all of his life. He had an appointed time for his destiny with God. LIke today, we travel the long, winding road. Destiny was laid before us in our mothers womb. As with King David the appointed time will come. Keep your eyes on things above, the Father will watch over your path. (2 Samuel 5 :3)
I woke this AM in a peace that is truly a gift from the Holy Spirit. I have much on my plate these days it is not always easy, but I have the promises of the Lord. Regardless of the circumstances on most days I am Blessed with this Peace. It is a choice I make. It is in the 'growing' of God's Word I know what God says to be true .' He came so that we may have life and have it more abundantly.' (John 3:19) Today I can relate to this promise from our King of Kings.
About a year before I landed on hub pages I felt in my Spirit the Lord was preparing me for a new direction. There are different seasons in life. I felt God was slowly closing the door to my hairstyling career, to open another. I told a friend of mine and when she asked what is was I told her I did not know. I just new it was in the works. When I started writing at hub pages over thirteen months ago that is where I knew I was to be. My life took on a new direction. I believe it was my appointed time that my 'destiny' for the Lord would be revealed to me. I am sure more will be revealed, because we do not graduate until we pass from this planet. The long and winding road is not easy but I would not trade the joy or peace for a 'trip' to a wonderland vacation in Tahiti. Do not get me wrong, I would be delighted to go tropical and put my feet in some sand but that is a temporary joy. The joy of the Lord surpasses all understanding and knowledge. No one can take it from us, unless we hand it over.
King David came to his kingdom in stages. (Samuel 5:3) He had many trials on the way to the top of the temple Mount into Jerusalem. People come to victories in life, in stages. We want instant in life but there is the long and winding road we must take to get there. If we follow the Lord, thanks be to God he will lead us in triumph and victory in 'Him'.
The Lord gave King David not only a strategy but a vision. A vision for success. A road for success in life has many perils, but God has a good plan for our life. It is incumbent on us to keep at it. To keep it going. The Godly people have work to do. A continous walk in the Christian faith, virtue, family values, personal righteousness, staying close to God and not being led astray by 'worldly' gain or lies from the enemy and to share the good news of hope and salvation in dark places.
David had trials first with his family and brothers. They thought he was to 'small' to be a Mighty Warrior. He fought Goliath. He ran from Saul for thirteen years. He could have killed Saul but his heart was for God and he love Saul. God made ways for David to conquer the land of Isreal and the city of Jerusalem. He led him through a tunnel water way, into the city. Through all his challenges David credited God for his walk with him. If we put God first place other things will come to us. (Matthew 6:30) We will have victory over situations that would baffle many. Today we live in a 'Goliath' world. Good news of the World is in 'high demand' but it is in short supply. The good news is found in the 'Letter' Christ left us so we would have his direction on the long and winding road.
David the mighty warrior told his men to armor up. He gave his commands to the brave and courageous in Christ. God was with him. David had a winning attitude to press on. We need that same attitude more then ever today. We need warriors, not worriers. Christ says, 'Fear not and know that I am with you.' (2 Timothy) We need many men and woman that believe we will have a successful life in these perilous times we live. We are made courageous, righteous and brave in Jesus Christ. He has his children covered.
David was anointed with oil by the Elders and made King over all of Israel. The 'City of David' was filled with the presence of 'God Almighty,' There was joy, peace and prosperity in all of the land. David made his temple Mount in Jerusalem where he reigned as King for thirty three years. David was shrewd and listened to God. His long and winding road led to triumphant victory.
King David said it is good to make music to the name of God, in his love and faith fullness. The 'Arc of the Covenant' went to Jerusalem. It became the City of the 'Living God.' All celebrated that day. David was ecstatic. He knew the Lord gave him favor and success. He made 'His' name to dwell. David danced before the Lord with urgency, wearing fine linen. He leaped and danced with all his might before the Lord. He was thrilled. He did not bother because his wife was angry or at what the people may have thought. He trusted the Lord and knew 'He' delivered. Today we can dance and celebrate because we know the road does not end, it leads to victory. Can you imagine the Palace of David? The store rooms, living rooms, closets, eating rooms and sitting rooms and whatever more. It was a Palace of Biblical proportions. (2 Samuel 6:14) Children can celebrate because we have a Palace of Biblical proportions, waiting for us.
David made Jerusalem the capital of Israel. The great place of Israel, the great capital. Some forget what a great Nation Israel is. God made Israel to be for his chosen people.God said there would always be a ruler in Davids house. Israel will exist forever. It is here to stay and prosper. God is in the business of prospering Israel and the business of prospering his children. He has a plan to turn 'weakness into strength.' It is written. It is a decision we must make, to walk with 'Him' in the process. Take the journey. Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem and Israel.
When I woke this AM it was laid on my heart to read Samuel. I was obedient to the Spirit, little did I know or have an idea I would write about the great warrior, King David. The Holy Spirit is an awesome teacher.
Like all of us David was not without sin. Our Lord forgives and makes us pure as snow. 'He can turn all things for good for those that love him.' (Philippians) That is a promise from our Savior. Open the package, do not be shy, because there are many more promises for us. There are many warnings so we know the truth. Persevere. The long and winding road leads to victory, in Christ. There is much joy in store for us.
I was 'led' to this video on You Tube, I know it was no mistake. God is everywhere or he is not. I believe it will be worth your time. May You be Blessed. I love ya, so does Jesus. Hugs.
