Ready to Fight the Fight with Christ

Do not go under, go over.
Do you ever sweat over the small stuff or feel like you are falling apart at the seams? Have you ever lost your zeal and zest to persevere and press forward. Press is a verb requiring action. Do things you need to do or call attention to pile up to where there is no interest because it would not really change things anyway? If you have experienced this, welcome aboard my boat. Please take a seat and we can share our struggles. We can play cards called 'Pity Party', together. Kidding. (Not)
There is a place of rest in knowing Jesus Christ that surpasses all understanding. I have experienced this place of rest many times over. It is a pink cloud if I ever rode one. It is a lovely place to be. It is sheer peace and bliss. Many believers stay on course and rest in faith under the shadow of the Almighty much more then not. I wish I could say that were me today. To be honest with you and myself it is not where I have been. I know spiritually that I am assured in Christ Jesus and that has kept me standing. There are many days I feel like sitting down and giving up. Giving up on what? Giving up on pressing forward. This life is not always easy. In fact it can be darn hard. But giving up would be giving up on Jesus and his promises for me. His love endures forever Even when I am in my pity party or low down he is there. Oh what an awesome God I serve. A life without the Father is dull, dry and empty and without meaning. It is a dead end road and a long journey getting there. Hopefully with the Grace of God one will be standing at the end. We are talking about eternity here. Life after this brief time on planet earth.
So what do I need to do? Well, I have to start proclaiming Gods Word and who I am in Christ. He has given me the gifts, the living truth and his Living Word that he will not forsake nor leave me. There is an enemy out there in dark places and in the World. There is a spiritual war going on. The enemy is looming to haul me out of here or anyone he can bring down. It is no kidding, for reels. He will use others in the world that are evil he has captured to fight with him. He is the looser. He knows it. Christ has overcome for us. Ignorance and or lack of knowledge and truth will keep many down. Many will be deceived. His intention is to take down anyone that loves Christ and deceive them. It is a battle of good and evil. It is obvious 'things' are not getting better in the World. If you take the L out of the word, world, you get Word. The Word of God is for our benefit to rise up in Christ and be in the world but not of the world.
The time is getting closer to the return of Jesus. It is time for this child to step up. It is not always easy street, practicing faith. It is hard when there are past due bills staring you in the face or the rent is short. The jobs and wages are way down and the electric bill is due in a couple of days with no paycheck in sight. These Goliaths can mow one down or make one get up and dress for battle. I have to take position as David did with Goliath. We all have Goliaths. They can stare us in the face. They can make us want to run and flee for cover. Christ has overcome for me so why do I fear?
Well I can look in the mirror and say it is the enemy. I can look in the mirror and decide I need to step it up. I need to shake off the dust. It is a new dawn. I get the Word of God, I open the pages. I confirm who I am in Christ. I know who I am, I speak it. I can say the devil made me do it he would love that, but I make some choices that put me in a position to be hurt. There is so much to learn and we never graduate until we graduate to eternity. I have to choose to not take it lying down. stand up, look up , reach up, claim what is mine in Jesus Christ. I have authority to boot the devil out of here, again. I have got to make the effort to pick up the heavy phone and talk to a prayer partner or a friend. It is not time to sigh and cry. I have done my share, and there will probably be more but what is the most important thing in my life is my relationship with Jesus. He WILL take care of me and all those past due bills. I do not think the creditor's can eat me for lunch. Thank You God. He is my all and my supply. I do not think he is going to hang me out to dry on a limb and say psyche.
There is no guaranteed pay check coming but was there ever? Life always changes. God is the only guarantee. Jobs, 401K, stocks, pension, sick leave, insurance, paid vacation are no guarantee. I did have those finer things in life. Today those guarantee's are gone, used up. I am not a lone ranger. God is not and He is my pay check. He is who I trust. So what is it going to be for me? I can choose to go the mile with or without Christ. I can believe in Him and His promises or bury my head in the sand because I want to hide. I have had to look in the mirror and decide what is it going to be? Because times are hard am I going to throw in the towel? That helps no one with the love of Christ. I need to keep focused on the prize, Jesus Christ. He paid the price so I am forgiven and have eternal life with him in Paradise. I need to be accountable to share good news of salvation and seed planting. Nothing will take me farther from self then helping someone else. I am here to love God and my neighbor as myself.
The closer I get to Jesus it seems the harder the enemy tries to edge in. Ive had it, I am done with his lies. I am the head not the tail. I am a child of the Almighty God. I am not going to wave a flag defeated by bills, landlord, job, bank, attorney, politician, taxes, government, the enemy.
I scoot up to the table and sit straight up. It is a choice. I can slump over but that avails little. I can go zip my lip and stay quiet not to rock the boat or I can use discernment and share the truth. Children of God. If this life is a ride of Bliss all the time, awesome. Many can stand on the promises and are at peace, allot of the time. About the minute I am in a place of rest a situation or event comes around and I am humbled. I am a sinner. If God were not my armor, I would be over the edge. So again it comes to the basics for me. When I slack I am grateful to say I get a wake up call. It is time to use the gifts Christ has freely given me and claim them.
I am redeemed and sanctified in Christ. I have a hope, a future, a supply, power, creativity, wisdom, peace. I have joy. I am in the Lambs Book of Life. When the chips are down and things do not look very pretty I have a promise because I am a child of God and He loved me first. I claim what I already know to be true. I declare the living word of God in every area of my life. I claim and receive it. I thank our Lord Jesus for overcoming for me. I am overcome. Gods power comes to me and will enable me to get up. Now this power needs to go through me to someone else. Praise God. The more I claim the power the more I know I have the power within. I need to make up my mind I am not going under but over. The power enables me to stand and show the world Jesus is in me and works through me. God has given us ALL power over the enemy, nothing will trample or hurt us because we have power and Blessings. Do not let ways of the World cause fear or disturb you because Christ has overcome for us.The enemy is the tree of evil so chop him down with the power of Christ in you. Christ is the tree of life so chow down on His lucious and good fruit. Keep on- keepin on, even when you feel you can not, He can.
I told my daughter I was having a writers block. She said, 'just write, you are the only block.' God worked through her to move me into action. What a good God we serve. In love and peace.

Hmmm, a Christian who does not blame the devil directly but blames themselves for being discouraged by him. This I believe is the true Christian way, not the Fire and Brimstone but the emptying of our soul's content so we can breathe in the intent and Spirit of our Lord. Good on yer Skye. A Christian Thought Fox that even Ted Hughes would be proud of.

We must stay focused on God's words. Turn whatever it is over to Him and put on the full armor. That's one of the reasons I like hynodudes mind exercises, because they truly help to keep your thoughts from falling and strengthen the shield to fight the fiery darts of the enemy. Be blessed!

Thanks! I do love to write, especially helping others to find the God I know and love, and others find the freedom in Christ to find he aboundant life Christ offers us.
For a number of years people have told me that I should write. I do journal lots. My letters to God. It just seems I don't have time to focus on that for now. Maybe I should just jump in and give it a whirl. God has loved me so faithfully throughout the years and I do love to share Him with others.

Beautiful testimony of a One and Only True and Most Beautiful God! Thanks for your inspiring message. Just over a year ago, I read the book, "Seeing and Savoring JESUS CHRIST" by John Piper. Talk about an eye opening experience. I have loved and served the Lord for many years. I truly know Him as Savior, Redeemer, Friend, Restorer, and, and, and, and, Since reading this book, I experience Him as 'my joy'.
I have had much heartache and healing, failure and victory in my life. And, now I experience HIS joy regularly. IT IS A CHOICE; sometimes daily, sometimes moment by moment even in toughest times. He is JOY!
I'll share some of the chapter on "Indestructible Joy" from John Piper in hope that it will speak "Christ's Joy" into many hearts.
"Jesus HIMSELF---and all that God is for us in him---is our great reward, nothing less. 'I am the bread of life. . . . If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me' John 6:3; 7:37). Salvation is not mainly the forgiveness of sins, but mainly the fellowship of Jesus (I Corinthians 1:9). Forgiveness gets everything out of the way so this can happen. If this fellowship is not all-satisfying, there is no great salvation. If Christ is gloomy, or even calmly stoical, eternity will be a long, long sigh."
"But the GLORY and GRACE of Jesus is that he is, and always will be, indestructibly happy. I say it is his GLORY, because gloom is not glorious. And I say it is his GRACE, because the best thing he has to give us is his joy. You will make Me full of gladness with Your presence" (author's translation). The risen Christ will shake off the shades of death and be glad with the very gladness of God. The glory of Christ is his infinite, eternal, indestructible gladness in the presence of God."
Yes, Jesus has experience pain, sorrow, sadness, tears and more than we can even begin to imagine, but His Word tells us that "In His presence is fullness of Joy." Seeking and abiding in Christ, fosters our true peace and joy! The peace of His presence leads to overflowing joy---if we let it---if we choose it! I choose His Joy!
"But if it is not glorious to be gloomy, neither is it glorious to be glib. The carefree merriment of a ballroom gala and the irrepressible joy in a Russian gulag are not the same. One is trite, the other is triumphant. One is glib, the other is glorious. There is a pasted smile that has never known pain. And it does not make for a good pastor or a great Savior. But Christ IS a great Savior."

Hi skye my sister, what can I say other than I love you, you bring a reality into your words that rings deep and true into all our lives when we look into the mirror and seek who we are and what we allow into our lives.
The old saying "Been there and done that" has true meaning when we claim it, the enemy loves to steal, rob and destroy and he loves to kill. As I read your hub the vision of a horse running free comes to my mind. When we allow the Father to break us, he allows us to have free will. There is a magic time in the process of breaking a horse when we need to stop as to not break the horses spirit. God has done the same with you, you are not broken. You are whole, complete and one with the Father, just as He calls us to be.
Your strength, love and compassion to serve Him come out as does the stamina of the free spirited horse that stands to serve as you do.

Marliza today I know I belong to Christ. I may have bills staring an me in the face but I have one I trust and there is no fear around those bills. No one wants to eat me for lunch. The only thing they can take is my joy and that i freely give up. I will not give up because of 'bills' Christ always provides. Sometimes it is hard, but I make it harder then I need to. Growing up for me comes with some growing pains, but I am covered. I was a bit under but I am sick of the enemy. He has to take a hike. I wear my armor. Keep on the armor and keep eyes on things above. It takes action. Christ does not open the Bible for us. Each day I have a choice. Today sister I go over. I am the head not the tail. We have a FATHER whose love is way larger then my finite mind can grasp. Think of a good Father. He so loves his kids. I am not in darkness but the light. I was down and through that journey I was strengthened in might. It is about getting up right away for me when 'things' may get to me.We are human, life is not easy but what we have is a daily reprieve in Christ Jesus to stay fit. I need to eat my spiritual food first. All is well today sister. I have lifted you in prayer. Christ will deal with the bills and getting us what we need. I need to remember that and not give room for the evil one to come lurking in my house. He is Gone, already defeated. I stand on the rock today I will not hide under the rock. I will climb it. This struck deep within me...I too am in the midst of financial darkness...and is it not strange, every time that I have an issue with God..something happens..where I would need to give answer...and after meditating, the answer is always what God is telling me...I always end up answering myself...
Ok so this is what I got...no matter how much I proclaimed the word concerning money..God denied me..why?..because God said that Christianity is not meant for profit...its all about me...it is not my circumstance that God wants to get into heaven but me...its me who He needs to teach, strengthen and build up from glory unto glory...the faster Father can get me to trust in Him without money and have no fear of what I shall eat or wear...the faster He knows that I will not be lead astray after every windy doctrine..
God does not make me suffer because He is blind or weak or think its funny...NO!!...He makes me go through hard times because He loves me the most..Just like He loved Jesus, and Jesus did not even had a place to rest His head and was made poor and obedient unto death...
BUT TODAY...WE ALL KNOW THAT GOD LOVED JESUS THE MOST AND GAVE HIS PRECIOUS SON ALL THINGS IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH AS HIS EVERLASTING INHERITANCE...TODAY WE KNOW THE TRUTH OF JESUS SUFFERING...HE, WAS THE CHILD IN WHOM GOD WAS MUCH PLEASED THE SAME AS WITH JOB...

What a blessing lines you gave us.
I am developing character (lifestyle) of thanksgiving. I found that many our “downs” were really play on our emotions. I started thanksgiving for everything. It is amazing how it changes everything. It appears that all, which is already gone, is like clouds and here we are, the sunshine.

When we overcome the problem with the help from our Lord,yes we are then full of rejoycing, Christ said that we will NEVER have on more than we can handle, so my dear just never give up,but give it away to our Lord and let Him handle it, he said to give him our cares, its up to us to listen to His words and then do it.

WOW! This Hub is POWERFUL. You are NOT alone in the battle against the already defeated enemy. I talked to two others who are experiencing BIG TIME attacks just today. We know the end of the story .. as well as the enemy does. You are absolutely right on about his desire to pull us down with him and you are right .. This was an awesome yet true hub. Where do we go? Except to the one we have the word of. He is always there and promised to be there always, even to the end of the world. Greater is He that is within us, than he, that is in the world. It wont be a smooth ride, standing for Jesus on here, and the demons of hell will try to make us give up, but I have Satan on notice. He can get under my feet, or behind me, because there are a few of us that are going to keep going on. God bless you Skye for your stance.
